Improving the Logistics Business Processes of the Organization
Abstract
In the article, the authors reveal the ways to solve the problem of forming effective logistics business processes using various tools and methods, both classical and modern. The main focus of the work is on the system of analysis and evaluation of business processes. The systemic aspects of modeling the logistics business processes of an organization are disclosed and the problematic areas of process improvement are systematized. The study presents the author’s model of logistics business processes based on the standard BPMN notation, which made it possible to visualize end-to-end logistics chains from the moment an order is received to delivery to the customer. The developed author’s business process model has provided identification of bottlenecks in the considered logistics business processes. The article presents the author’s developed model of an organization’s logistics business process assessment and analysis system. When developing the model, system and process approaches were applied, on the basis of which the main functional blocks, inputs, outputs, problem areas and required improvements were identified. The model of the organization’s logistics business process assessment and analysis system can be used to improve and optimize the logistics business process management system. A large regional sales company was chosen as the object of the study, which includes a variety of logistics business processes that support the main activities of the company. The novelty of the research lies in the development of process models to improve the efficiency of logistics business processes. The main purpose of this research is to develop tools to support the system of analysis, evaluation and improvement of logistics business processes. The proposed developments can be applied to develop a system for analyzing and managing the logistics processes of sales companies. When developing models, methods of system analysis such as analysis and synthesis, expert method and process modeling were used. Their complex combination made it possible to work out all the elements of the models, as well as systematize the tools and directions for improving logistics business processes.
