Abstract

Virtual reality (VR) technology is a valuable tool to address the evolving needs of young-old adults. This study investigated the factors influencing the adoption of VR technology among young-old adults, extending the technology acceptance model by incorporating trust and perceived risk. Data were collected from 343 respondents aged 60 and above through a structured questionnaire, with structural equation modelling used for data analysis. The findings revealed that trust plays a central role in shaping young-old adults' attitudes towards VR technology and their behavioural intentions to adopt it. Additionally, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness positively contribute to the formation of trust. Conversely, perceived safety risk and performance risk negatively affect trust.
