Abstract
This work examines the methodological features of organizing language development for students in grades 5–8 on the basis of an integrated approach. The integrated approach is an effective methodological principle that enables the holistic development of linguistic and cognitive skills by establishing content-based connections between subjects. This approach aims not only to teach grammar and vocabulary, but also to integrate language learning with subject knowledge, real-life experience, and creative activity. Taking into account the age characteristics of students in grades 5–8, the integrated approach combines language development with cognitive interest, critical thinking, and communicative abilities. Within such methodological foundations, learning materials are presented through texts, tasks, and project work drawn from various subject areas. For example, topics from history, geography, science, and the arts are incorporated into language lessons in the form of texts, dialogues, discussions, or essay writing. The advantage of the integrated approach is that it encourages learners to actively participate in the language environment, broaden their worldview through discussions on various topics, and develop intercultural communication skills. This method ensures the integrity of knowledge by establishing interdisciplinary connections and linking language material with real life. In addition, students’ creative and research abilities develop, and their skills in analyzing, comparing, and synthesizing information are strengthened. Thus, the methodological foundations of organizing language development in grades 5–8 through an integrated approach contribute to learners’ holistic development, enhancement of linguistic and cognitive competence, and increased learning motivation.
