Abstract

This study examined the influence of school leaders’ leadership behavior on teachers’ mental health and work efficiency in six selected public secondary schools in Cainta, Rizal. Using a quantitative, descriptive-correlational design, data were gathered through validated questionnaires from teachers and school leaders and analyzed using weighted mean, t-test, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple linear regression. Leadership behavior was examined in terms of human relations, trust, decision-making, instructional leadership, control, and conflict management; teachers’ mental health was examined through emotional wellbeing, physical symptoms, workplace support, and coping and resilience; work efficiency was examined through time management, instructional delivery, classroom management, and professional competence. Findings indicated very great extents of leadership behavior, high levels of teachers’ mental health and work efficiency, significant perceptual differences in selected domains, and positive relationships among leadership behavior, mental health, and work efficiency. Control and conflict management significantly predicted teachers’ mental health, while no leadership dimension predicted work efficiency. A training program was proposed to strengthen teacher wellbeing and professional performance.
