This book highlights the history of the MGIMO Scientific Student Society, which has evolved from a spontaneous study group within the student editorial board of the Life of IMO magazine into one of the country's largest student scientific communities. Based on unique archival materials, documents, photographs, and interviews with distinguished alumni and former heads of the Society, the book reconstructs a vivid chronicle of the community, inextricably linked with the history of both the university and the nation. It traces the transformation of the Society’s working formats: from research circles and "study rooms" in the post-war years to a student center for political and economic research in the 1990s, and to large-scale international forums and science festivals in the 21st century. Special attention is paid to the enthusiasts whose energy and dedication to science enabled the Society to revive during the most challenging periods and reach new horizons. The book is intended for students, alumni, and faculty members of MGIMO, as well as anyone interested in the history of the student movement.
