PENGARUH LINGKUNGAN TEMAN SEBAYA DAN KONDISI SOSIAL EKONOMI TERHADAP MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA KELAS X AKUNTANSI SMKN 1 MEDAN

Abstract

Learning motivation is one of the key factors influencing students' success in achieving learning objectives. However, students' learning motivation in the Basic Vocational Subjects is still affected by various external factors, including the peer environment and family socioeconomic conditions. This study aimed to analyze the influence of the peer environment and socioeconomic conditions on the learning motivation of tenth-grade Accounting students at SMK Negeri 1 Medan. This research employed a quantitative approach using an ex post facto research design. The study population consisted of 143 students, and the total sampling technique was applied, resulting in all members of the population being included as research participants. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicated that the peer environment had a positive and significant effect on students' learning motivation. Likewise, socioeconomic conditions also had a positive and significant effect on learning motivation. Furthermore, the peer environment and socioeconomic conditions simultaneously exerted a positive and significant influence on students' learning motivation in Basic Vocational Subjects. These findings suggest that a supportive peer environment and adequate socioeconomic conditions contribute to enhancing students' learning motivation. Therefore, schools and families should collaborate in creating a conducive learning environment to improve students' learning motivation. ABSTRAK Motivasi belajar merupakan salah satu faktor penting yang memengaruhi keberhasilan peserta didik dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Namun, motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Dasar-Dasar Kejuruan masih dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor eksternal, di antaranya lingkungan teman sebaya dan kondisi sosial ekonomi keluarga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh lingkungan teman sebaya dan kondisi sosial ekonomi terhadap motivasi belajar siswa kelas X Program Keahlian Akuntansi di SMK Negeri 1 Medan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode ex post facto. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 143 siswa, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling, sehingga seluruh populasi dijadikan sampel penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lingkungan teman sebaya berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Kondisi sosial ekonomi juga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar. Selain itu, lingkungan teman sebaya dan kondisi sosial ekonomi secara simultan memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Dasar-Dasar Kejuruan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terciptanya lingkungan pertemanan yang mendukung serta kondisi sosial ekonomi yang memadai dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Oleh karena itu, sekolah dan keluarga perlu bersinergi dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif guna meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik.
