Abstract

Aiming at the characteristics of aircraft environmental control system (ECS) such as multi-domain coupling, complex system structure, and working states, and stringent requirements for environmental adaptability, an object-oriented and multi-domain unified method for performance modeling and simulation of aircraft ECS based on Modelica language was proposed. A complete framework for ECS performance simulation was constructed, and a general model library for dynamic characteristic analysis of ECS within the full flight envelope was established. Taking the ECS of a civil aircraft as the research object, a performance simulation model of aircraft ECS was built to carry out dynamic simulation analysis under typical flight missions, which verified the effectiveness of the modeling method and the engineering practicability of the model library. Through simulation, the analysis of key characteristics and virtual verification of the environmental control system for civil aircraft were carried out at the early design stage, which reduced the risk of problems occurring in the later stage and cut down the working conditions and costs of on-board test verification. The research results can provide digital simulation support for the scheme design, performance optimization, and environmental adaptability verification of aircraft ECS.
