Abstract

The strengthening of the global ESG agenda and the transformation of financial markets have increased the relevance of assessing how sustainable development principles affect the performance of asset management companies. The study aims to identify the degree and nature of the relationship between ESG indicators and key financial metrics at both the country and corporate levels. The analysis focuses on the institutional conditions in which management companies operate, the quality of the national ESG environment, and individual corporate ESG assessments. The methodological framework combines international ESG rankings, linear normalization of heterogeneous indicators, and correlation analysis of financial metrics for 2022-2024. The empirical base includes the Yale Environmental Performance Index, international ESG ratings, and public financial statements of asset management companies. The results reveal a positive relationship between the quality of a country's ESG environment, the corporate ESG ratings of management companies, and indicators such as ROE, ROA, Net Income / AUM, and Net Income / Revenue. The findings support the conclusion that ESG factors are associated with higher profitability and stronger investment attractiveness of management companies. The scientific novelty of the study lies in combining the country and corporate levels of analysis within a single empirical framework. The practical significance consists in the possibility of using the results by management companies, investors, and regulators when developing sustainable finance strategies.
