Control of a doubly fed induction generator based on a virtual synchronous generator
Abstract
Against the backdrop of the ‘dual carbon’ targets and the development of a new power system, the large-scale integration of renewable energy sources has led to the power system gradually exhibiting characteristics such as low inertia and weak damping, posing new challenges to the system’s frequency regulation and voltage stabilisation capabilities. This paper proposes a control strategy to effectively address the challenges of a weak grid environment, namely, using a simulated synchronous generator to enable a doubly-fed wind turbine to exhibit an inertial response similar to that of a synchronous generator, thereby enhancing its ability to regulate grid frequency.
