The Effect of Organizational Communication on Employees’ Work Integrity and Job Satisfaction at the Bureau of Goods and Services Procurement of North Sumatra Province
Abstract
This study aims to analyze organizational communication, work integrity, and job satisfaction at the Bureau of Goods and Services Procurement of North Sumatra Province. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 60 employees through a digital survey. Organizational communication was measured based on the five dimensions proposed by Pace and Faules, while work integrity was assessed with reference to the Regulation of the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Number 60 of 2020. Job satisfaction was measured using the Job Descriptive Index (JDI), which consists of five indicators. The findings indicate that organizational communication was perceived positively by employees, particularly in terms of information accuracy, which recorded a mean score of 3.5800, and information content related to the ASN BerAKHLAK Core Values, which recorded a mean score of 3.4350. However, several challenges were identified, particularly regarding the equitable dissemination of information and the availability of interactive communication media. Employees’ work integrity was also perceived very positively, with the honesty dimension recording the highest mean score of 3.6000, indicating a strong internalization of ethical values. Overall, job satisfaction was perceived positively. The supervision dimension recorded the highest mean score of 3.0600. Meanwhile, pay, with a mean score of 3.0250, and the nature of the work, with a mean score of 2.9650, emerged as the main areas requiring improvement. The study concludes that organizational communication plays a crucial role in strengthening employee integrity and job satisfaction. Therefore, improvements in organizational communication and employment-related aspects are necessary to create a more positive work environment, enhance job satisfaction, and reinforce an organizational culture grounded in the ASN BerAKHLAK Core Values and guided by the principles of work integrity.
