Fragilidades e desafios dos coordenadores de cursos técnicos das áreas de Gestão e Informática: uma análise da atuação na Educação Profissional e Tecnológica
Abstract
The coordination of technical courses constitutes a strategic function for the operation of Vocational and Technological Education institutions, especially in areas of high professional demand such as Administration, Logistics, Accounting, and Information Technology. Course coordinators work as articulators among students, teachers, institutional management, curriculum, and the labor market, accumulating pedagogical, administrative, and relational responsibilities. In this context, this article aims to analyze the main weaknesses and challenges faced by coordinators of technical courses in the Management and Information Technology fields, considering the specific characteristics of Brazilian Vocational and Technological Education. This is a qualitative bibliographic and documentary study, based predominantly on publications from 2022 to 2026, as well as normative and institutional documents related to vocational education. The analysis indicates that the main weaknesses are associated with insufficient specific training for coordination functions, overlapping pedagogical and administrative responsibilities, difficulties in leadership and communication, the need for continuous updating in response to technological and labor-market transformations, conflict management, monitoring of academic indicators, and articulation with companies and other external stakeholders. The analysis also indicates that Management and Information Technology courses require multidimensional competencies from coordinators, extending beyond technical expertise in their original field of education. It is concluded that strengthening technical course coordination requires professionalization of the function, continuing education, clear definition of responsibilities, institutional time allocation, and the development of planning, monitoring, and evaluation instruments.
