The Impact of Artificial Intelligence Usage on Project Effectiveness And Efficiency Across Professional Industries
Abstract
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) has fundamentally transformed operational workflows across global organizations. Although prior studies have examined the impact of AI implementation, few have investigated its influence on the effectiveness and efficiency of projects across multiple professional industries. This study addresses this gap by comprehensively examining how AI use affects four critical dimensions of project effectiveness (innovation and creativity, risk management, decision-making, and work quality) as well as three dimensions of project efficiency (time management, cost management, and resource management). Data were gathered from professional practitioners in various sectors using a quantitative research design. A "Structural Equation Model Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM)" with a bootstrapping method of 5,000 subsamples was implemented to assess the given hypotheses. The findings indicate that AI has a significant impact on the innovation and creativity dimension, while continuing to play a supporting role in the other dimensions.
