Abstract

Global navigation satellite system (GNSS) measurements collected from low Earth orbit (LEO) are useful for a variety of applications including precise orbit determination, space weather monitoring, and terrestrial interference source localization. However, there are few publicly available datasets of multi-GNSS measurements collected from LEO platforms. This article describes a dataset collected during the Bobcat-1 CubeSat mission which includes raw GNSS measurements such as pseudorange, carrier phase, Doppler frequency, and carrier-to-noise density ratio (C/N<inline-formula><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$_{\mathbf 0}$</tex-math></inline-formula>) for all GNSS constellations, in addition to the receiver clock offset and onboard temperature sensor readings. The dataset consists of a single continuous data collection from the CubeSat’s onboard NovAtel OEM719 GNSS receiver spanning approximately 16 h and includes all active GNSS constellations and signal frequencies. Throughout the dataset, Bobcat-1 orbits at an altitude of approximately 375 km with an inclination of <inline-formula><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$51.6^{\circ}$</tex-math></inline-formula>. At certain points in the collection, a degradation in the number of tracked signals was observed in the L1, L2, and L5 bands. Most of these instances occurred near a specific geographic region, which could indicate the effect of terrestrial GNSS interference on the orbiting receiver.</p> <p>IEEE SOCIETY/COUNCIL: Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS)</p> <p>DATA TYPE/LOCATION: GNSS measurements; low Earth orbit, Global</p> <p>DATA DOI/PID: <ext-link ext-link-type="doi" xlink:href="https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.20058088">10.5281/zenodo.20058088</ext-link>
