Prevalensi Pasien Tinea Korporis Di Poliklinik Kulit Dan Kelamin RSUD Meuraxa Kota Banda Aceh Tahun 2025
Abstract
Tinea corporis is a superficial fungal infection caused by dermatophyte fungi. This disease is frequently found in tropical regions. Hot and humid climatic conditions, population density, and personal hygiene factors contribute to the high incidence of this disease. Data on the prevalence of tinea corporis are needed as a basis for planning disease prevention efforts in healthcare services. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of tinea corporis patients at the Dermatology and Venereology Outpatient Clinic of Meuraxa Regional General Hospital, Banda Aceh, in 2025, based on age and gender. This study used a descriptive method with a retrospective approach. Data were obtained from the medical records of tinea corporis patients from January to December 2025. The sampling technique used in this study was total sampling, with a total of 234 tinea corporis patients who met the study criteria. The results showed that the prevalence of tinea corporis patients was 17.4% of the total patient visits to the Dermatology and Venereology Outpatient Clinic. Based on age, the highest number of cases was found in the 19–59-year age group, with 162 patients (69.2%), followed by the ≥60-year age group with 42 patients (17.9%), and the 10–18-year age group (12.8%). Based on gender, female patients were more prevalent, accounting for 164 patients (70.1%), compared with 70 male patients (29.9%). The conclusion of this study indicates that the prevalence of tinea corporis patients at Meuraxa Regional General Hospital was 17.4%, predominantly affecting the 19–59-year age group and females. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a basis for planning tinea corporis prevention programs in healthcare services.
