The corpus was excerpted from the internet service Vukajlija on the basis of sociolinguistic and linguosty listic criteria. The words are in most cases lexicalized, since a smaller number of occasionalisms (nonce words) were observed. In our corpus, words excerpted from general jargon are the most represented, while an argot and youth jargon appear less often. Germanisms that are part of the argot and youth slang most often acquire a new meaning, however, in a smaller number of examples the meaning is unchanged, but their definitions are determined using slang dictionary. Linguistic and stylistic principles that we observe in the definitions of Germanisms in Vukajlija are hyperbole, irony, comparison, paraphrase, metaphor, metonymy, periphrasis, allegory, pun and folk etymology.
