Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the implementation of Smart Farming and supply chain integration as strategies to ensure food security and price stability in East Java. Design/Methods/Approach: This study used a descriptive qualitative document-analysis design. The study purposively selected government policy documents, official publications, program reports, and peer-reviewed articles, then analyzed them using Braun and Clarke’s six-phase thematic analysis—coding combined deductive categories derived from the research objectives with inductive codes emerging from the documents. Source triangulation, a document-extraction matrix, an audit trail, and repeated theme review strengthened analytical trustworthiness. Findings: The research findings indicate that the implementation of Smart Farming, including soil moisture monitoring, crop growth sensors, and data-driven weather forecasting, contributes to increased productivity and reduced crop losses. Supply chain integration through digital platforms and cooperative collaboration has also been shown to support more efficient distribution and help mitigate price fluctuations. Originality/Value: This study provides insights into how Smart Farming technology and supply chain integration can contribute to food security and price stability in East Java, addressing both agricultural efficiency and market stability. Practical/Policy implication: This study recommends strengthening technology adoption, policy support, and supply chain partnerships as strategic steps towards sustainable food security in East Java.
