KEY APPROACHES TO THE ANALYSIS OF ACTIVITIES OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF MEDICAL ORGANIZATIONS, ILLUSTRATED BY FACILITIES PROVIDING INPATIENT MEDICAL CARE
Abstract
Significance. The typology of medical organizations is necessitated by the need for a balanced, consistent and comparable evaluation of their performance, with due regard to their structure, planned capacity, profile of medical care provided, size of the population served, and human and technical resources available. Purpose. To analyze major characteristics of hospital organizations by type and determine the correlation between indicators used to evaluate performance of hospital organizations. Material and methods. A comprehensive retrospective study was conducted using data from the Federal statistical monitoring form No. 47, “Information on the network and performance of medical organizations”, assessing indicator dynamics by growth rate in 2024 relative to 2015. Qualitative data are presented as relative frequencies (extensive indicators) alongside absolute values. Performance indicators for hospital organizations across eight federal districts of the Russian Federation were calculated based on standard metrics. Results. The performance evaluation of medical organizations revealed significant differences not only among organizations providing inpatient care in general, but also within the same type, such as dispensaries, centers, city hospitals, etc. The correlation analysis of statistical indicators identified the key values with the highest impact on the calculation of the resource utilization coefficient. Conclusion. The type distribution of medical organizations providing inpatient care is highly heterogeneous. Key performance indicators of hospitals vary significantly depending on the type of medical organization. The most influential factors affecting the efficiency of hospital resource utilization include the average annual bed occupancy rate and the number of specialist physicians per 10 000 population.
