Analisis Ayat-ayat al-Qur’an Pendididikan Islam Multikultural Perspektif Hermeneutika Fazlur Rahman
Abstract
This study explores the Qur’anic ethical principles related to human diversity and reconstructs them into values of multicultural Islamic education through Fazlur Rahman’s double movement hermeneutics. Employing a qualitative library research approach, the study examines selected Qur’anic verses concerning tolerance, justice, diversity, peace, and brotherhood. The interpretation proceeds through two interconnected movements. The fist examines the verses in their socio-historical contexts to identify the universal moral principles underlying their revelation. The second contexualizes these principles within the realities and challenges of contemporary Islamic education. The findings reveal five fundamental values of multicultural Islamic education derived from the Qur’anic ethical framework: tolerance, represented by QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 256; justice, reflected in QS. Al-Ma’idah [5]: 8; equalitry and respect for diversity, emphasized in QS. Al-Hujurat [49]:13; peace, expressed in QS. Al-Anfal [8]: 61; and brotherhood and reconciliation, articulated in QS. Al-Hujurat [49]: 10. These values provide an ethical foundation for recognizing differences, preventing discrimination, affirming human dignity, resolving conflicts peacefully, and strengthening solidarity and social cohesion. Through the double movement approach, Qur’anic moral principles can therefore be contextualiazed into inclusive, equitable, dialogical, and transformative orientations for contemporary Islamic education.
