A segurança territorial como política de salvaguarda do patrimônio cultural imaterial
Abstract
The paper analyzes how territorial security has been incorporated as a safeguarding strategy for intangible cultural heritage in Minas Gerais, in the context of the advance of neoliberal policies, the impacts of climate change on traditional communities, and the positioning of these groups as active agents in the struggle for fundamental rights, particularly the guarantee of access to land. Drawing on experiences at IEPHA-MG, it shows that the right to land is essential for the continuity of the cultural practices of traditional communities. The paper argues for the strengthening of institutional and normative frameworks to ensure the effective protection of territories and the lives that sustain these forms of heritage.
