Abstract

Safe and equitable drinking water is still a problem in many rural areas, where drinking water distribution systems are not efficient, water is usually pumped by hand, and there is a lack of monitoring of drinking water. This study proposes a Smart Automated Water Distribution System that aims to make rural water supply systems more efficient, transparent and sustainable. This system enables the continuous tracking of the household water's consumption, controls its distribution based on daily allocated amount, and automatically regulates the water flow and prevents excessive water use. Centralized tank monitoring allows for intelligent operation of the pump in order to prevent overflow and stop disruptions in the supply. Wireless communication allows data to be sent in real-time to a cloud for distant monitoring and use analysis. The proposed method allows for the reduction of water losses, increase the fairness of water distribution, increases the operational reliability and helps in energy-efficient water management. The system provides a practical and scalable solution to improve the drinking water infrastructure in rural areas, and ensure sustainable use of resources and long-term service continuity.
