FinTech-Driven Green Finance for Environmental Sustainability
Abstract
Green finance is a key tool to achieve environmental governance and carbon neutrality under the "dual carbon" goals. Traditional green finance faces severe problems such as environmental information asymmetry, frequent greenwashing, and low efficiency of pollution reduction and carbon reduction. Financial technology (FinTech) such as blockchain, AI and big data provides a new path for environmental risk control, carbon emission management and green project supervision.Based on the ethical balance theory and environmental governance perspective, this paper explores three paths of FinTech enabling green finance: environmental transparency, environmental risk mitigation and green innovation. The results show that blockchain improves the authenticity of environmental information disclosure, AI significantly reduces carbon accounting errors, and big data + IoT realizes real-time supervision of enterprise pollution and carbon emissions. Environmental regulation positively moderates the promotion effect of FinTech on green finance efficiency (interaction coefficient = 0.163, P<0.01).This paper reveals that FinTech can effectively strengthen environmental governance capacity, restrain greenwashing, and improve the pollution reduction and carbon reduction effects of green finance. Finally, it puts forward strategies including environmental data standardization, technological inclusion and regulatory coordination, to provide references for green finance to better serve environmental protection and sustainable development.
