Abstract

Simple Summary Endo-β-1,4-mannanases (MANs) are cell wall-remodeling enzymes that regulate mannan polysaccharide turnover and plant stress adaptation. The TaMAN gene family in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) has not yet been characterized. Here, we identified 24 TaMAN genes genome-wide and analyzed their evolutionary relationships, duplication patterns, protein properties, and cis-acting element distributions. Integrated expression profiling revealed distinct sets of TaMAN genes responsive to powdery mildew infection and early salt stress. This study provides a systematic understanding of the evolutionary and transcriptional features of wheat TaMANs and identifies candidate genes for breeding salt-tolerant and disease-resistant wheat.
