Hyphoderma jingguense sp. nov. (Hyphodermataceae, Polyporales), a wood-inhabiting fungus from Yunnan Province, China
Abstract
A new corticioid fungal species, Hyphoderma jingguense sp. nov., collected from a forest habitat in Yunnan Province, China, is described and illustrated based on morphological and molecular evidence. Morphologically, the species is characterized by ceraceous basidiomata with a farinaceous hymenial surface, a monomitic hyphal system with clamped generative hyphae, and allantoid basidiospores measuring 7.3–9.1 × 3–3.9 µm. Phylogenetic analyses based on combined ITS and nLSU sequence data using Maximum Likelihood and Bayesian Inference placed H. jingguense within Hyphoderma (Hyphodermataceae), which forms a sister clade to H. tenuissimum. A description, illustrations, and phylogenetic analysis results are provided. In addition, we compare the new species with closely related taxa.
