Advanced Sensor and Energy Harvesting Materials
Abstract
Smart electronic textiles (e-textiles) are changing the nature of wearable technology, which involves integration of sensors, computing, communication and intelligence into conventional textiles. Wearable systems combining flexible electronics and edge Artificial Intelligence (Edge AI) will provide real-time data acquisition, processing, and decision making onsite with low latency and minimal energy and cloud connectivity. The chapter provides a detailed and complete analysis of the integration of innovative flexible electronic components, such as sensors, conductive textiles, stretchable circuits, energy harvesting modules and wireless communication interfaces, with functioning Edge-AI systems for impactful generations of wearable intelligence. It explores integration architectures, material innovations, System Design Methodologies and On-Device Intelligence Techniques that enable Adaptive, Low Power, Context-Aware Wearables. In addition, the chapter discusses emerging applications in the areas of healthcare monitoring, sports analysis, industrial safety, rehabilitation and defense,
This publication proposes a definition and a classification of agile software development approaches and analyses ten software development methods that can be characterized as being "agile" against the defined criterion.
