Molluscum contagiosum: a literature review and a clinical case of contagiosum localization on the conjunctiva
Abstract
Molluscum contagiosum is a benign skin and mucous membrane disease caused by a virus of the Poxviridae family, prone to spontaneous regression at varying times after infection. This review examines the etiology, prevalence, routes of infection, lesion location, pathological presentation, and treatment methods for molluscum contagiosum. The article also presents a case of its extremely rare conjunctival localization.
