Unveiling the Integrated Digital Transformation Process in Driving Sustainable SMEs Performance: A Systematic Literature Review
Abstract
This study aims to examine the conceptual evolution of digital transformation and identify the main factors that form the integrated digital transformation process in encouraging sustainable SMEs performance. The method used was a systematic literature review (SLR) with the PRISMA protocol, resulting in 37 relevant articles from the Scopus database. The analysis is carried out through thematic approaches and conceptual synthesis. The results of the study show a shift from a technology-based perspective to a process-based approach, where digital transformation is understood as an integrated process shaped by technological factors, organizational capabilities, innovation drivers, and external factors. These factors do not directly affect performance, but through the mechanism of the transformation process. This research produces a conceptual framework that integrates various perspectives that were previously fragmented and emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach in the digital transformation of SMEs.
