Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing cases of bullying in elementary school environments, which negatively affect students’ psychological and social well-being. The purpose of this study is to examine the implementation of Christian values in addressing bullying cases and their implications for Christian Religious Education (CRE) teachers at SDN 29 Nenak Tembulan. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The research subjects include the principal, CRE teachers, student affairs teachers, and students, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection techniques consist of semi-structured interviews and observations, while data analysis uses the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results indicate that bullying still occurs in verbal and social forms, such as mocking and social exclusion, which lead to decreased self-confidence among students. The current handling efforts tend to be repressive and have not fully addressed comprehensive character development. The implementation of Christian values such as love, forgiveness, empathy, and respect for others has proven effective in encouraging behavioral changes in both perpetrators and victims of bullying. The findings imply that CRE teachers play a strategic role as educators and spiritual mentors in integrating Christian values into the learning process and in creating an inclusive and conducive environment. Therefore, bullying prevention and intervention should not only be disciplinary but also transformative in shaping students’ character.
