GAZETA MATNIDA METAFORANING KOGNITIV VOQELANISHI
Abstract
In recent times, the linguocognitive mechanisms underlying the functioning of linguistic units have been the subject of active study. The linguocognitive approach allows for viewing cognitive semantics as the linguistic representation of the world model existing in the minds of native speakers. Within linguistics, metaphors are a widely studied linguistic phenomenon; due to their powerful impact on communication and the expression of ideas, there is currently a growing need to examine them through modern analytical methods based on anthropocentric approaches. In the following article, we aim to examine the philosophical and theoretical foundations of metaphor—given its role as a phenomenon within the linguistic picture of the world—from linguocognitive, linguocultural, pragmatic, semantic, and psycholinguistic perspectives.
