Implementation of Medical Record Digitalization Through The Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) in the Outpatient Department of Bhayangkara Level I Hospital, PUSDOKKES POLRI
Abstract
Medical record digitalization through the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) is an important initiative for improving the quality of outpatient services. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of medical record digitalization through HMIS in the Outpatient Department of Bhayangkara Level I Hospital, Pusdokkes Polri, and to identify the challenges encountered during its implementation. The study employed a descriptive mixed-method design, using a qualitative approach supported by simple quantitative data. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document review. The findings showed that HMIS has supported patient registration, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation, and service reporting, thereby improving service efficiency. However, several challenges remain, including unstable internet connectivity, insufficient user training, and data-entry errors. It is concluded that HMIS implementation has had a positive impact on service effectiveness; nevertheless, improvements in information technology infrastructure, periodic user training, and continuous monitoring and evaluation are required to optimize system utilization.
