Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has driven the implementation of online learning in higher education, making digital literacy an essential competency for students. This study aims to describe the role of student digital literacy in improving the quality of online learning among fourth-semester students of the Pancasila and Civic Education Study Program at Universitas Pamulang. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that students possess digital literacy skills in searching for information, understanding materials from various digital sources, and reflecting on information during the learning process. However, these skills are not yet optimal in terms of active participation in discussions, willingness to ask questions, and consistency in submitting digital-based assignments. The challenges encountered include the suboptimal utilization of learning platforms, limited comprehension of online materials, and varying levels of technological proficiency. Therefore, the development of more interactive learning media and lecturer support are needed to enhance student participation and optimize the use of digital technology in the online learning process.
