Analisis Wacana Kritis Model Teun A. van Dijk terhadap Konten Youtube Guru Gembul Episode 1014 tentang Pelecehan Seksual di Pesantren

Abstract

The rise of sexual violence cases in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) has triggered public discussions in the digital public sphere. This study examines how digital content creators construct the discourse surrounding this sensitive issue. Focusing on the Youtube video by Guru Gembul entitled "Eps 1014 | Pelecehan di Pesantren Berlanjut. Benarkah Terinspirasi Kitab Kuning?", this research employs Teun A. van Dijk’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) framework, which explores three dimensions: text, social cognition, and social context. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The findings indicate that at the text level, the macrostructure centers on shifting public perception from theological blame toward an institutional abuse of power. Structurally, the video uses provocative openings to engage viewers, followed by empirical and theological arguments, and closes with a moral appeal. Social cognition analysis shows that the discourse is heavily driven by the creator's mental model as a rational educator holding an emancipatory ideology. In the social context, the discourse emerges as a counter-narrative against structural relations of power and the culture of silence in religious institutions. This study implies that digital media serves as a counter-hegemonic space to challenge taboo issues within traditional institutions.
