ASSESSMENT AND ANALYSIS OF THE IMPACT OF GLOBAL DECARBONIZATION ON THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE GLOBAL AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY IN TERMS OF VALUE ADDED
Abstract
This article analyzes issues related to the impact of decarbonization of the global economy on the development of the automotive industry in foreign countries, with an emphasis on the analysis of global value chains (GVCs). As part of the study, the author's structural and functional model of the transformation of global value chains in the electric vehicle industry was developed, reflecting the shift of strategically significant links from traditional elements of the automotive industry to battery technologies, critical minerals, power electronics, digital platforms, software, charging infrastructure and service support. It is substantiated that these links in the conditions of decarbonization become the main sources of added value and competitive advantages. Based on this, the author's interpretation of the GVC in the global automotive industry is proposed from the perspective of the roles of individual countries in it.
