Compound Prepositions in English
Abstract
The article explains compound prepositions that are formed in various ways in English. Here, the syntactic-semantic and morphological features of prepositions are analyzed. The meaning and content-forming function of intratextual prepositions is explained in detail in the text given in the article. From the analysis, it becomes clear that different types of prepositions are used within a text and, depending on the context, they perform different functions along with the words they belong to. The research once again shows that prepositions create intraword connections in a sentence, and they perform the function of creating syntagmatic and paradigmatic connections, in addition to their morphological and semantic properties within the text. Keywords: compound prepositions, simple prepositions, word periphery, in-text prepositions, prepositions that create phraseological units
