Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) connects many smart devices and allows them to collect and share data through networks. As the number of IoT devices continues to increase, security problems such as unauthorized access, data tampering, privacy issues, and cyber-attacks are also becoming more common. Traditional security systems mainly depend on a central authority, which can create certain limitations. Blockchain technology offers a decentralized and tamper-resistant approach that can help improve IoT security. This paper explains how Blockchain can support device authentication, data integrity, secure data sharing, privacy, and decentralized communication in IoT environments. It also highlights the importance of protecting communication between IoT devices and maintaining trust among different participants in the network. In addition, the paper discusses security threats and possible countermeasures that can help make BIoT systems more reliable. It also discusses the possible applications, benefits, challenges, and future scope of Blockchain-based IoT security. Although Blockchain can provide an additional security layer for IoT systems, challenges such as scalability, computational requirements, storage limitations, and the limited resources of IoT devices still need to be addressed.
