Unlocking Growth: The Role of Innovation in Organizational Change and the Pitfalls of Inertia
Abstract
This paper investigates the dynamic relationship between innovation and organizational change, highlighting the characteristics of non-innovative organizations that impede progress. By distinguishing between creativity and innovation, the study underscores that while creativity generates novel ideas, innovation involves implementing these ideas to drive tangible results. Critical barriers to innovation emerge through an analysis of organizations that resist change, including rigid hierarchies, risk aversion, and limited investment in research and development. The findings demonstrate that fostering a culture of innovation is essential for organizational resilience and adaptability. Organizations prioritizing innovation over stagnation are better positioned to respond to market shifts, enhance productivity, and sustain a competitive edge in today’s evolving business landscape.
