2026 · Вестник Пермского университета Политология · 0 citations

Abstract

The presented study is devoted to identifying and typologizing the modern political instruments used by the Polish authorities to build constructive cooperation with the diaspora abroad and to support its activities aimed at promoting the traditions and culture of the country of origin, attracting human and financial resources to Poland, and improving the state’s image on the international stage. Central to the study is the notion of "diaspora," as well as the examination of the diaspora as a subject of the political process, grounded in national identity and possessing sovereignty in decision-making that affect various spheres of public life for both the host country and the country of origin. The study’s results indicate the development of Poland’s political instruments; the active use of digital and information resources meeting the demands of contemporary globalization; the application of tools to achieve tasks at different levels – both national and international; and Poland’s effort to optimize methods of supporting the diaspora abroad. Based on statistical data and public information about the Pole’s Card, the conclusions address the flexibility and situational nature of the state’s implemented political instruments and the correlation between the instruments used and the diaspora’s country of residence.
