Pengaruh Motivasi dan Disiplin Belajar terhadap Prestasi Akademik Mahasiswa Program Studi S1 Manajemen di Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis Semarang
Abstract
This study aims to examine the influence of motivation and learning discipline on the academic achievement of undergraduate Management students at Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis (ITB) Semarang, both partially and simultaneously. A quantitative approach was applied using a survey method, with a sample of 100 active students selected through simple random sampling from a population of 452 students. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS, following classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity). The results show that motivation has a positive and significant partial effect on academic achievement, and learning discipline also has a positive and significant partial effect, with discipline showing a relatively stronger contribution than motivation. Simultaneously, motivation and learning discipline significantly affect academic achievement, explaining 69.8% of its variance (R² = 0.698), while the remaining 30.2% is explained by other factors outside the model. These findings imply that strengthening students' internal drive and consistency in learning behavior are essential strategies for improving academic performance, providing both theoretical contribution to human resource management studies and practical input for policy formulation at ITB Semarang.
