Post-Quantum Access Control for Collaborative Perception in Vehicular Edge Networks
Abstract
Collaborative perception in vehicular edge networks requires low-latency data sharing across vehicles, roadside infrastructure, and edge platforms, while ensuring that sensitive information is released only to authorized recipients. Existing approaches mainly rely on channel protection or classical access-control mechanisms, which do not directly address post-quantum security. This paper proposes PQ-VECShare, a post-quantum vehicular-edge architecture that applies Ring Learning With Errors (RLWE) ciphertext-policy attributebased encryption (CP-ABE) to collaborative perception. While RLWE-based techniques support post-quantum security, they requires heavy computations compared to classical algorithms. Therefore, we propose a novel two-party computations involving Road Side Units (RSU) and Multiple-access Edge Computing (MEC) where user outsource the heavy computations to these without breaching privacy and security. Experimental results show that the proposed technique reduces the user encryption and decryption time to 11.5 ms and 10.0 ms at 128-bit security, compared to baseline times of 1.90 s and 0.94 s.
