Abstract

This research aimed to determine the significant influence of literacy culture on the Social Science learning achievement of students at State Junior High School 1 Dayun. This research was motivated by the low student learning achievement, including learning achievement that had not reached the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP) and students’ lack of ability to respond to teachers’ explanations. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of all students at State Junior High School 1 Dayun, totaling 194 students, with a sample of 35 students. Data were collected through questionnaires, tests, observations, and documentation. Hypothesis testing was conducted using SPSS version 23. The results showed that literacy culture had a significant influence on students’ Social Science learning achievement at State Junior High School 1 Dayun. The significance test showed that the observed r-value was 0.554, which was higher than the r-table values at both the 5% and 1% significance levels, indicating that the alternative hypothesis was accepted. The contribution test showed that literacy culture contributed 30.7% to students’ learning achievement, while the remaining 69.3% was influenced by other variables not examined in this study.
