SOME ARCHAIC DIALECTAL LEXEMES, REGISTERED IN THE DIALECTAL CONTINUUM OF THE BULGARIAN AND THE ROMANIAN LANGUAGES

Abstract

In the article I aim to compare dialectal lexemes of Bulgarian and Romanian languages based on data from written sources, field material and the archive of the European Linguistic Atlas (ALE). The linguistic data are examined in connection with historical information about the region, paying attention to the traces of the Balkan substrate preserved in the dialect vocabulary. I follow up some cases that show the trase from Thracian language preserved in the Bulgarian dialect vocabulary.
