Abstract
The Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO) is establishing two sites: in La Palma, Canary Islands, and Paranal, Chile, to observe gamma-ray sky from 0.03 to 300 TeV with high sensitivity and resolution. It involves 70 air Cherenkov telescopes of various sizes. Four 23-meter parabolic Large-Sized Telescopes (LSTs) in the north cover 0.03-0.5 TeV; LST-1 is operational, and others are starting. In the south, Italy's INAF and INFN, funded by the European Community via the PNRR CTA+ Program, develop two LSTs to improve low-energy detection to be set at southern site. The INAF team reviewed the telescope design for southern site conditions, especially seismic loads. The Brera Observatory is responsible for the optical system, which uses 198 hexagonal mirror tiles (1.7 m) arranged in three coronas to mimic a monolithic parabola with cold glass technique. This contribution reports about the optical design and about the optical performance of the produced mirrors.
The Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO) will be composed of two arrays of imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes (one in each hemisphere): in the Northern array, located at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory in the Canary island of La Palma, there will be 4 large-sized telescopes (LSTs) and 9 medium-size...

The Multi-Aperture Spectroscopic Telescope (MAST) is an array of twenty 61 cm prime-focus telescopes designed to address the growing mismatch between the discovery rate of wide-field photometric surveys and the availability of efficient spectroscopic follow-up facilities. All telescopes are fiber-fed to two shared spec...

The Center for High Angular Resolution Astronomy (CHARA) Array is a six-element interferometer at Mount Wilson Observatory with baselines ranging from 34 to 331m. The Array hosts a number of new or upgraded, six-telescope beam combiners that span the spectrum from the visible R-band to the near-infrared K-band with a r...

The 14.5m telescope programme was approved in 2024 which will significantly mitigate the demands of China’s astronomical community for 10m class large aperture optical/infrared telescope. The telescope will be located in the top astronomical sites with very good seeing conditions in Lenghu Qinghai province and is desig...
