GENERAL SCIENTIFIC METHODOLOGICAL TRAINING AT A PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY: PROBLEMS AND WAYS TO SOLVE THEM
Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of improving the general scientific methodological training of university students in the context of the transition of fundamental science to a new scientific paradigm. This training is of particular importance for students who are future teachers, as there is a clear need for a high level of secondary education within the framework of the new scientific paradigm, as well as for the ability to lead research work in secondary schools, which is driven by the demands of the state and society. The academic discipline designed to provide general scientific methodological training is the course “Methodology of Scientific and Project Activities.” The article presents an analysis of theoretical sources that examine the content, structure, and organizational forms of this course, and it summarizes the experience of teaching this discipline at Samara State Social and Pedagogical University. This analysis made it possible to identify difficulties and problems and propose ways to overcome them in the process of general scientific and methodological training of future teachers. The literature analysis revealed that there are key shortcomings in the content and structure of the course that prevent the development of a sustained interest in research activities among students. The authors of the article propose and substantiate ways to address the identified problems. The research findings open up new opportunities for improving the level of training in the discipline “Methodology of Scientific and Project Activities” and can be used in the educational process at higher pedagogical schools.
