Abstract
This study aims to develop Blooket-assisted domino card learning media for abbreviations and acronyms and to examine its feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness in improving the learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students. Previous studies have examined domino cards and Blooket as learning media in separate contexts; however, the integration of concrete domino cards with Blooket for teaching abbreviations and acronyms to fifth-grade elementary school students has not been specifically developed and evaluated in a single learning product. The study employed a Research and Development method using the ADDIE model. Data were collected through observation, interviews, expert validation, response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The validation process involved one media expert, two subject matter experts, and one language expert. The small-scale trial involved four students, while the large-scale implementation involved 45 students and one fifth-grade teacher at SDN Cihideung Ilir 03. The expert validation results obtained an average score of 92.5%, which was categorized as highly feasible. The teacher response reached 94.71%, while the student response in the large-scale trial reached 90%. The mean pretest score in the large scale increased from 42.56 to 80.22 in the posttest. The N-Gain score was 0.640, which was categorized as moderate. The Shapiro-Wilk test showed that the pretest data were normally distributed (p = 0.288), whereas the posttest data were not normally distributed (p = 0.001); therefore, the difference between the two scores was analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test resulted in a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. These results indicate that the Blooket-assisted domino card learning media is feasible, practical, and effective for supporting the learning of abbreviations and acronyms.
