Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of educational games on the development of students’ interpersonal intelligence through a qualitative approach. Interpersonal intelligence is an essential dimension of multiple intelligences that plays a significant role in shaping students’ ability to interact effectively, collaborate with others, and demonstrate empathy and social responsibility within the learning environment. This research employed a qualitative research design with a descriptive approach and was conducted at the elementary education level. The research subjects consisted of students and teachers who were directly involved in the implementation of educational game-based learning. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation to obtain comprehensive and contextual information. Data analysis was carried out interactively through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the implementation of educational games exerts a positive influence on the development of students’ interpersonal intelligence. This influence is reflected in the improvement of cooperative skills, interpersonal communication, empathy, and active participation in social interactions during the learning process. Furthermore, educational games contribute to the creation of a collaborative learning atmosphere and encourage more meaningful social engagement among students. These findings suggest that educational games function not only as instructional media but also as a strategic means to facilitate the holistic development of students’ interpersonal intelligence. Therefore, the systematic integration of educational games into the learning process is recommended as an effective strategy to support the sustainable development of students’ social competencies.
