This text is an introduction to Jarosław Ładosz’s “Socialism Today. Theses”. It outlines Ładosz’s philosophical views, showing how he creatively reconceptualized the pillars of Marxism-Leninism, and examines the relation between his pre- and post-1989 positions. It highlights the marginal yet persistent role of Ładosz and his circle in the 1990s and points to unrealized alternatives and debates that remain relevant for contemporary discussions of socialist development and post-communist order.
