INTEGRATION PROCESSES AND UKRAINE'S PARTICIPATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORT CORRIDORS

Abstract

The relevance of the article is determined by the increasing role of international transport corridors in the development of global trade, regional economic cooperation and the integration of national transport systems into the international logistics space. In the context of changing supply chains, growing demand for reliable freight transportation and the need to strengthen connections between European and Asian markets, Ukraine’s participation in the development of international transport corridors is of particular strategic importance. The country’s geographical position creates significant opportunities for the use of its transit potential, the expansion of multimodal transportation and the strengthening of its role in international cargo flows. The article discusses the participation of Ukraine in integration processes related to the development of international transport corridors and the formation of a more efficient transport and logistics system. Particular attention is paid to the importance of transport corridors for foreign economic activity, the development of cross-border cooperation, the modernization of railway, road, sea, river and terminal infrastructure, and the improvement of interaction between different modes of transport. The article also considers the need to harmonize Ukraine’s transport policy with European approaches, improve the regulatory environment, develop logistics hubs and introduce digital tools for managing transport flows. The topic is especially relevant under conditions of security challenges, infrastructure damage, changes in traditional logistics routes and the growing need to diversify export and transit directions. In this context, international transport corridors are considered not only as a means of increasing the efficiency of transportation, but also as an important factor in strengthening economic resilience, supporting international trade and ensuring the long-term recovery of the national transport system. The article highlights the importance of investment support, institutional coordination, technological modernization and cooperation with international partners in the further development of Ukraine’s transport potential. The discussion of this topic makes it possible to outline the main issues related to Ukraine’s integration into the European and global transport space, the improvement of transport connectivity, the development of multimodal logistics, and the creation of conditions for the effective use of the country’s geographical and economic advantages.
