Abstract

The study aimed to determine the relationship between the use of the GeoGebra mobile application and the achievement of mathematical competencies among secondary school students in a rural area of Puno, Peru. The research employed a quantitative approach, was basic in nature, and utilized a non-experimental correlational design. The population consisted of 57 students in grades one through five of secondary education, and the sample comprised 50 students selected via stratified probability sampling. Data collection involved a survey using two structured questionnaires designed to assess GeoGebra usage and mathematical competency achievement. Inferential analysis was conducted using Spearman's rho coefficient. The results revealed a strong, positive, and statistically significant relationship between the use of GeoGebra and the achievement of mathematical competencies (ρ = 0.805; p < 0.001). It is concluded that higher levels of GeoGebra usage are associated with higher levels of mathematical competency achievement among the students evaluated.
