Abstract
This present paper provides a critical analysis of the role and significance of corporate ethical responsibility in promoting environmental conservation. Nevertheless, the rapid expansion of modern industrialization and production systems has substantially made economic growth through corporate activities, simultaneously it leads to environmental degradation through biodiversity loss and the depletion of natural resources. In the light of these challenges, the role of corporations should be reevaluated not only through the framework of legal obligations but also in terms of ethical responsibility. Within the principle of environmental ethics, the article regards the environment as distinct entity as well as recognizes the moral standing of human beings together with other forms and components of the natural world. The principles of sustainable development, additionally, have been served as a fundamental framework for assessing corporate conduct, emphasizing the obligation to mitigate present human needs along with responsibility toward future generations. The findings of this study reveals that the ethical responsibility of corporations transcends the mere adoption of environmentally sustainable technologies, requiring a holistic ethical approach that incorporates social justice, intergenerational obligations, and preservation of ecological balance. Corporate organizations, hence, should refrain from adhering solely to profit-centered orientation, instead adopt an ethical framework that ensures ecological sustainability, social justice, and intergenerational equity. The primary objective of this article is to advance the view that corporate environmental ethics should be considered not solely as a policy-oriented or regulatory constraints but as a moral duty that promotes human compassion, reverence for nature, and a sense of responsibility toward the future.
