Peran Pendidikan Agama Kristen Dalam Membangun Toleransi, Inklusivitas, Dialog, Dan Kehidupan Harmonis Di Masyarakat Majemuk
Abstract
Indonesia is a diverse nation in terms of ethnicity, culture, and religion; consequently, tolerance, inclusivity, dialogue, and harmonious living are essential for maintaining national unity. Christian Religious Education (CRE), as an integral part of education, plays a strategic role in shaping students to coexist with adherents of other religions without losing their own faith identity. This article aims to examine the role of CRE in fostering tolerance, inclusivity, interfaith dialogue, and harmonious living within a pluralistic society. The study employs a qualitative method using a library research approach, involving the collection, review, and analysis of relevant primary and secondary sources, such as books and scholarly journal articles. The findings indicate that CRE, when utilizing an inclusive-dialogical approach, can cultivate mutual respect, create spaces for interfaith encounters, and strengthen social cohesion without compromising Christian faith identity. However, implementation still faces challenges, including tendencies toward theological exclusivism, limited interfaith religious literacy, and the need for further strengthening of curricula that incorporate a national perspective. Consequently, there is a need for curriculum reorientation, the enhancement of educator competencies, and the development of learning methods based on dialogue and cross-cultural experiences, enabling CRE to contribute effectively to building peace and harmony amidst Indonesia's diversity
