The innovative aspect of the essence of digital transformation and digitalization
Abstract
This article examines the innovative nature of digital transformation and digitalization, taking into account contemporary challenges. It demonstrates that digital transformation is a complex, multi-layered process that goes beyond technological innovation. An analysis of scientific approaches and empirical data suggests that the concept of “rational implementation” of technologies is being replaced by a model of “dynamic adaptation,” in which organizations’ competitive advantages are shaped by the ability to continuously revise management practices. The paper highlights key characteristics of innovation in the digital economy: its ecosystem nature, emphasis on consumer value, reorganization of management structures, and acceleration of innovation cycles. Particular attention is given to institutional shifts in 2026 related to the regulation of the platform economy and the transition of businesses from pilot AI projects to industrial operation.
